How do counseling sessions typically last? 

A typical therapy session lasts 50 minutes.

How do I know if I (or my teen) really need counseling? 

We believe that everyone can benefit from therapy from time to time in their life. However, if you are noticing a recurring issue is beginning to have negative or even detrimental effects on your life, it’s a good sign to seek the help and support of a licensed therapist.

How often will I need to come to counseling? 

We have found that meeting weekly with clients leads to quicker improvement. We recommend meeting weekly, but understand if bi-weekly appointments work better for your schedule.

How long will I need to come to counseling? 

There are a number of factors that contribute to the length of counseling, therefore it is unique to each person. Once you begin working with your therapist, you will gain a better idea of how long you will need. Typically, clients commit to counseling for 6 months, and progress is measured frequently.

How much do sessions cost? 

Intake (first) session: $150

Individual sessions: $135

Payment is due at the start of every session. We accept credit card and HSA payments through our secure online system, Simple Practice.

Are sessions covered by my insurance?

We are out-of-network providers. This means that we are not contracted with insurance companies. However, we do offer what is called a Superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement using your out-of-network benefits. We have written an article that you can access here, that will answer a few more of your questions about out-of-network benefits for counseling. Use this as a guide when calling about your plan.

Do you have evening and weekend appointments available? 

We do not offer weekend appointments at this time. However, we do have evening availability.
